Interface Wildfires

The increasing expansion of housing developments in forest areas caused, in part, by economic development highlights a disturbing increase in wildland-urban interface (WUI) fires, causing high economic losses by burning homes, and even loss of life. Addressing this problem requires a concerted effort by society as a whole and those agencies with wildland fire protection responsibility. The Fourth Symposium on Fire Economics, Policy and Planning provides a forum for discussion and exchange of experiences, latest solutions, and tools for the prevention, control and mitigation of WUI fires.
